Some pieces of music eventually become something bigger than the day you wrote them.

This one became my wedding.

On August 17, 2014, this music accompanied my wife as she walked down the aisle. We were fortunate enough to hear improvised violin playing alongside it that day and that memory has stayed with me ever since.

When I decided to include it on Chapters, I didn't want to simply recreate the arrangement.

I wanted to recreate the feeling.

That's a much harder thing to record.

Enter Piatt Pund.

My wife and I have both had the privilege of working with Piatt over the years, and I honestly couldn't imagine anyone else playing this new violin part that I wrote. His violin doesn't simply play the melody. It remembers it.

Every album needs a quiet place where the listener can simply breathe.

For me, this is that place.
